About Podo — it started with a box of Crocs

Liz and Mike sitting on a blanket at the beach with their dog.

A note from Liz, who asked for this app, and Mike, who built it.

As a working mom of three, I track a million things. But, for whatever reason, I can never keep track of my kids’ shoe sizes. Even after I trace and measure their feet, I still need to make an exchange.

The final straw came on Christmas morning, 2025. The kids tore open their presents to find brand-new Crocs — and not a single pair fit. Holding a box of shoes that looked like boats on my two-year-old, I yelled, “I just need an app for this!”

Enter Podo.

My husband, Mike, took my cry for help and actually built the solution. He coded this app so I can stop ordering six pairs of shoes just to find three that fit; although worth it for Crocs, there had to be a better way.

Motivated by strict data privacy — and a smaller mountain of cardboard boxes to recycle — Mike made this app to take fast, accurate measurements and translate them into brand-specific sizes, without storing any private information about our children.

This app helps me measure (and remember!) my kids’ shoe sizes so I can order confidently and know they’ll fit. I hope you, too, find it helpful, and it gives you one less thing to track.

With Our Best Feet Forward,

Liz, Mike, and six little happy feet

One less thing to track.
